Elgin Western Days
Elgin is still a small town and most would agree that it still has has that special feeling only a small-town can offer. The historic downtown area and older established neighborhoods can be quite comfortable and charming. The rural areas can be extremely peaceful and relaxing for those wanting to escape city living but be only 25 minutes from Austin. For many years, Elgin has been famous for it's hot sausage and barbeque and also for its bricks from two local brickyards. This old railroad town is also known for a five day event held every year since 1966 called Western Days. The month of June is the time to put on your boots and cowboy hat and join in on the fun in Elgin!
